The Role
Teach English across KS3 and KS4, planning, delivering and marking well-sequenced lessons that build vocabulary, analysis and fluent writing. You’ll use assessment to inform teaching, contribute to shared schemes, and cultivate a calm, purposeful classroom where every learner is challenged and supported. The department is collaborative, well-resourced and committed to helping new teachers make rapid progress.
 
The Candidate
You’re a reflective ECT who’s excited to take full classroom responsibility and act on feedback.
You should have:
• A degree in English or a closely related subject
• QTS or be on track to achieve it by January 2025
• Secure subject knowledge and enthusiasm for literature and language
• Clear communication and effective behaviour management
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development
