Primary ECT (Early Career Teacher)
Are you completing your training and looking for a permanent Primary ECT role from January 2026? Could you lead your own Year 4 class while completing a supported ECT induction in a collaborative school?

*** ‘Good’ 2-form entry primary school, Erdington
*** ECT induction support and own Year 4 class to lead
The Role:
You’ll take responsibility for a Year 4 class, planning and delivering engaging lessons across the national curriculum. You’ll assess learning, adapt teaching to meet need, and contribute to wider school life. Your induction will include a reduced timetable, weekly mentor meetings, regular observations with feedback, and CPD aligned to the Early Career Framework.
The Candidate:
You’re on track to achieve QTS by January 2026 (PGCE/SCITT/Schools Direct or equivalent). You bring secure curriculum knowledge, clear behaviour routines, and a reflective approach. You’re organised, responsive to feedback, and motivated to secure strong outcomes for all pupils.
Requirements
• Degree – Qualified (or QTS by Jan 2026).
• Communication – Clear, confident classroom and parent communication.
• Enhanced DBS – Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
• Desire to work in education/with children – Commitment to inclusive practice and pupil progress.
• Experience working with children – Any relevant experience (placements, tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.

This ‘Good’ 2-form entry primary in Erdington has strong leadership, well-sequenced curricula, and established year-group planning. You’ll join a supportive team with shared resources, clear routines, and a proven track record of developing ECTs.
