Key Details
The Role
Teach Maths across KS3 and KS4. Plan and deliver well sequenced lessons that build fluency, reasoning and problem solving. Use assessment to identify gaps and adapt teaching. Mark to department policy and give timely feedback. Contribute to shared schemes, moderation and intervention. Maintain calm routines and apply the behaviour system consistently. Set purposeful homework that reinforces learning. Safeguard pupils and keep accurate records.

This ‘Outstanding’ Edgbaston secondary sets high expectations and supports staff well. The Maths team shares planning, uses common booklets and retrieval routines, and moderates regularly. Leaders are visible, behaviour systems are clear and consistent, and classrooms are well resourced, including visualisers and interactive boards.
